Born and raised in India, I, Sonu, have always harboured a deep passion for fashion, textiles, and the rich cultural heritage of my homeland. My home in Delhi is a testament to this love, meticulously themed to reflect the grandeur of Indian heritage. From a young age, I was enchanted by the elegance of Indian sarees and the vibrant traditions woven into them. This fascination led me to launch Threads of India in 2023, a venture dedicated to showcasing the evolution of fashion from traditional to contemporary styles.
Growing up, I was captivated by the intricate block printing of Jaipur, a craft I frequently encountered in the form of bed sheets at home, my mother's sarees, and even my grandmother's attire. This art form, cherished for its sustainability and enduring appeal, left a lasting impression on me. Threads of India was born out of my desire to share this timeless art with a broader audience and provide a significant platform for artisans to sustain their livelihoods.
